Competition Schedule:
Schedule for the day will be distributed prior to the event based on entries received.
Tentative schedule as follows:
Doors to Endeavor Middle School (22505 26 Mile Rd, Ray, MI 48096) will be open at 8am. Although doors will be unlocked prior to 8am, we are not allowed to have attendees in the building until 8am. Thanks for your assistance on this.
Registration for Primary, Beginner and Novice competitions will take place from 8:00am-8:45am with dancing beginning at 9am. The competition will start with the Beginner and Novice Flora, followed by Primary Pas de Basques.
Registration for the Choreography competition will take place from 10:30am-11:00am with the choreography competition starting at the conclusion of the morning dancing (approximately 11:30am). Choreography max of 1:30. Please email music to [email protected] by November 10, 2023.
Intermediate & Premier registration will take place from 11:30am-12:30pm with the competition starting at the conclusion of the morning awards (approximately 12:30pm).
Awards
Medals will be awarded in all groups up to 6 places
Overall trophies and runner-up trophies will be awarded to the highest point winner in each age group Beginner-Premier.
Special awards to be given:
- Most Promising Intermediate Dancer - selected by the judge from all Intermediate dancers who did not win the overall group trophy
- Premier Dancer of the Day, selected by a dance off of a 4-step Fling between the winner from each Premier age group with 6+ competing dancers
Competition Rules:
Competition will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (RSOBHD).
The judge’s decision is final.
Age groups will be determined according to the number of entries and competitors’ ages are as of the day of the competition, November 18, 2023.
Dancers first to enter shall be last to dance.
Dancers must present their 2023 registration card to register, dance and receive awards. No exceptions.
Dancers must be in full costume to receive awards.
Awards are given at the judge’s discretion.
Dancers must be ready and appear when called or forfeit the chance to dance.
Organizer reserves the right to make changes to the event or schedule so long as the change falls within the scope of RSOBHD Rules.
Additional Competition Information:
Dance numbers will be provided at registration.
No concessions will be provided on-site, but we will have our annual raffle table.
Highly recommending pre-purchased entry and program. Spectator admission $10/person 12 & over. Children under 12 enter free. Limited programs will be available on-site for purchase for $5 each (USD only).
$5 of each entry will go to SDUSA-MW for USIR 2028. Entries close Friday, November 3, 2023. In order to be guaranteed a listing in the program, entry must be received by closing day. Late entries may be accepted at double fee until Friday, November 10, 2023. Any entries accepted after November 10th would be assessed triple fee.
